Angiogenic and Cell Therapies

چکیده
Since Judah Folkman first described the process of angiogenesis in 1971, much has been learned about the cells, the extracellular factors, and the signaling pathways that modulate the angiogenesis, arteriogenesis, and vasculogenesis. Promising preclinical studies led to trials of angiogenic factors and cell therapies for peripheral arterial disease (PAD) in the last 2 decades. Early stage trials have provided evidence for safety and bioactivity; however, the field still awaits a positive phase 3 pivotal trial. In this review, we will provide an outline regarding the vascular response to ischemia in animal models and in humans. We will discuss what has been learned from the clinical trials of cell therapy and angiogenic factors Peripheral Artery Disease Compendium

Human Trophoblast Progenitor Cells Express and Release Angiogenic Factors
Trophoblast stem cells develop from polar trophoectoderm and give rise to the cells that generate the placenta. Trophoblast cells are responsible for the uterinal invasion and vascular remodeling during the implantation of the embryo. However this knowledge is not yet to be confirmed for trophoblast progenitor cells (TPCs). In this study, we aimed to demonstrate that human TPCs (hTPCs) express ...
متن کاملSimultaneous Effect of Resistance Training and Endothelial Progenitor Cell Injection on the Expression of Vegf Angiogenic Factor and Its Relationship with Insulin Resistance in Diabetic Male Rats Induced By Stz
Background: Exercise and the simultaneous use of progenitor cells is a new strategy aimed for reducing diabetic disorders. One of the known mechanisms is angiogenic disorders caused by diabetes. Therefore, the present study was performed to determine the simultaneous effect of resistance training with endothelial progenitor cell injection on the expression of angiogenic factors in the skeletal ...
متن کاملEffect of Propranolol on Angiogenic Factors in Human Hematopoietic Cell Lines in vitro
Background: Beta-adrenergic blocking agents have been broadly used for treatment of many cardiovascular diseases such as arterial hypertension and ischemic heart failure. Anti-tumoral, anti-inflammatory and anti-angiogenesis effects of propranolol (a non-selective beta-adrenergic blocker) have been shown. Angiogenesis (replenish of the pre-existing vascular networks) plays a critical role in s...
متن کاملThe Effect of Combining Resistance Training and Endothelial Progenitor Cell Injection on the Expression of Angiogenic Factors In Diabetic Male Rats Induced By Stz
Background: Angiogenesis disorders are known mechanisms of diabetes. With the aim of reducing angiogenesis disorders, resistance training and its combination with endothelial progenitor cell injection are new strategies. Therefore, the present study was performed to determine the effect of resistance training with endothelial progenitor cell injection on the expression of angiogenic factors in ...
متن کاملImmune consequences of anti-angiogenic therapyin renal cell carcinoma
Current therapies of renal cell carcinoma (RCC), a highly vascularised tumour, mostly rely on anti-angiogenic treatment options. These include tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs) and anti-VEGF monoclonal antibodies. Although these strategies aim at restraining vascularisation to control tumour growth, the effects of such therapies are much wider, as affecting the vessel structure deeply modifies ...
